As you may know, Windows 10 support will end on October 14, 2025. This means that from that date onwards there will be no more updates, security issues will no longer be fixed, and this will leave users in a very uncomfortable situation. Source: Microsoft
Before allowing the update, Microsoft checks that the computer has a supported processor and a security module (TMP) version 2. This check blocks the update for many people.
Did you know that it’s possible to disable this check? To do so, you need to add the following key to the registry.
- Path :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup
- Kind :
DWORD (32-bit)
- Name :
AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU
- Value :
1
If you’re unfamiliar with editing the registry, here’s a small file to make it easier to edit. I generally advise against running these types of scripts if they come from an untrustworthy site. If you’d like, you can check the contents with a text editor. Source: Microsoft Forum
Windows11-Update-AllCPU-NoTPM.reg (right-click > save, then open the file)
If it does not work, you can save the following content in a new text file and rename it with extension .reg
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup]
"AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU"=dword:00000001
